Marlin
Hi. I've now come to the paint fase on my egyptian PFS. And I've started an account on Flickr so I can show my pictures. To build my PFS I've used the fuselage from a PF and wings and fin from a PFM. I got a rather larger spare parts box for the MiG-21 now. Perhaps I can do something later on with the remaning parts? And this is how it looks in primer (Humbrol 140)1 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 2 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And after the first coat of AKAN Bright Aluminium.3 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr AKAN is rather thin, so it'll take some layers to build up the final finish. Marlin
Hi, My build goes along rather well at the moment. As the paint dries on the MiG I've been doing some work on the Mirage. Hellers rather sparse cockpit has been detailed with some Eduard PE. 4 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued.... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, The autumn is starting to show here in my part of the world. The schools have started and the pre season games in the icehockey have started.005 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr For me this means more time at the worktable, and less time in the summer cottage. During the last few weeks I've been painting my egytian MiG.006 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr007 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr008 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've used AKAN metallics. And I've tried to get some colour difference in the panels. The main colour is Bright Aluminum, and on wingpanels I used Dull Steel, which unfortunately did get a bit to dark. So I layed a single layer of Bright Aluminium over it, and it looks a little better now. As soon as I've painted the green di electric panels it's time for the decals. Marlin
Thanks matteo44. Sadly not. I'm just a fan of the sport. My wife and I have been following our local team for about ten years now. It's fun and it gives us something to do that doesn't cost a fortune. /Bosse
matteo44
Follow the team that you like, is the same thing of playing (more or less)... you are happy, angry, enjoy, suffer... is like stay near the players... Marlin
Hi. Now it's time for some serious modelbuilding. The autumn is here now in my part of the world. Last weekend we closed our summer cottage for the season. And what a last weekend we got.002 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The best weather this summer I think. This we celebrated with a grilled Pork Tenderloin, some potatocakes, fried chantrelles and a green pepper sauce. 003 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr During autumn and winter we don't spend so much time in the cottages, so now I can focus more on my ongoing builds. Just now I'm concentration on the Heller Mirage IIIB, and it's taking both time and effort to build it.018 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Huge gaps in the wings.019 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Some strips of plasticards to the rescue. And I've finally found some varnishes that works. I had an errand into Stockholm yesterday and I took the opportunity to visit Wentzels Hobby. (one of the few remaining real hobby shops in my part of the world.) They suggested I'd try Model Masters acrylic varnishes. And what a difference from Humbrols version of Frost. 020 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr021 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr022 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr023 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I used satin on these. Now it's fun to build again. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Thanks Tobbe. Störtebeker is one of my favourites, especially Baltik-Lager. Too bad that you can't get them in Sweden. /Bosse
Paramedic
Yeah, since I have not tried it..! I have planned to get a pair of those sail-inspired glasses however and I love their Bernstein-weissen as well as the Roggen weissen.. A beer-evening in Upplands Väsby some time? Looking forward to that tricky-looking Mirage by the way!
Marlin
I bought the glasses in Germany last summer. But you can get them online direct from the brewers webshop. Right now I'm out of Störtebekers, but I'm returning to Germany in the summer, and hopefully I'll be able to load up the car with some liquid gold then. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Marlin
Hi, I had a fantastic All Hallow Saint Weekend. I had found frozen quails for a good price. And my lovely wife Anne prepared a real feast for us with them. 025 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The quails was stuffed with parsley, bacon, lemon sest and a bit of garlic. Served with potato gratin, and champignon sauce. Marvelous.... I also finished my egyptian MiG-21 FL. 026 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr027 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr028 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr029 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr030 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr031 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The only thing left on it is some silver on the pitot tube. I got eight weeks left on my Six Days war memorial build, and I don't think I'll be able to finish them all in time. But a few more should be possible. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi, and Season Greetings to you all. Here is an update on how I stand with my Six days War build. It's only the Egyptian MiG-21 that has been finished. This is the status on the rest of them. SDW 032 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The Mirage is almost ready for primer. SDW033 by Bosse Persson, on FlickrSDW034 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The Super Mystere has got legs, and can stand on them. SDW035 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The Alouette is ready for some decals. SDW036 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The Fouga Magister and the MiG-17 are still unstarted. So the build will not be done by New Years. I'll continue on them all during winter and hopefully have them all done by spring. To be continued..... /Bosse
Massimo
Very interesting thread!!! I can't see the first pictures, but the last ones are enough to see you keep yourself busy even when you aren't modelling!!! Those stuffed birds don't look very...aviation related ( apart they've got wings!!!) but are a nice interlude between different subjects!!! You could accompany these pictures with recipes too!!! I like your Mig and I see the family is growing up!!! Looking forward for your next update!!! Ciao Massimo
Marlin
Thanks a lot Massimo. The first pictures disappeared with Photobuckets hostage act, and I've not got around to restore the links. My wife and I like to cook, so that's why I sometimes inclued our dinner in my build. I'll see what I can do about the recipies. I too like the MiG-21. This FL was my fifth Eduard MiG-21, and I got quite a few more of them to build. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. My Six Days War build is some what stalled. But I do build on them from time to time. And now I've got the Alouette done.037 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr038 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr039 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr040 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So a bit delayed I've got two of the six done.
