Graham T
Contemplating a start on one of my 1/32 Tempests & probably starting with the V in Beaumont's colours. This was an early version with the extended cannon muzzles. AFAIK the cockpit would have been interior green over all, including the frame work. I also have the II which, as a post war build, would have been black with aluminium frame. Anyone tell me different?
spitfire
Without photos of the interior of your subjects cockpit it would be safe to go with either grey/green, black or a mixture of both with black above elbow height and green below. Chris Thomas
Based on observation of EJ693 whilst it was still in its original paintwork, cockpit sides down to the bottom of the door panels , head armour and decking behind the latter (but beneath the closed canopy) were all in Night (black). Below the door panels grey/green. Tubing was painted Aluminium. As Typhoons had been painted in this way since mid-1943 I would think earlier Tempests (and later ones for that matter) also featured this scheme.
