IanC
Hello all I'm slowly working my way through Airfix's new tool kits. Here's the latest - the Bf 110C finished as a night fighter with NJG 1 in 1941. The kit goes together really well, but being one of their early kits it's rather crude in places and lacks detail. The panel lines are far too prominent, of course, but look a bit better under a few coats of primer and paint. I added some masking tape belts but apart from that it's out of the box. I used Tamiya paints with some brown and grey washes and pastels to try and break up the black finish. Decals are by Print Scale. Thanks for looking!
Learstang
Very nice - the Bf-110 looks good in the all-black scheme! Regards, Jason Edited January 20, 2017 by Learstang Minor correction.
Sgt.Squarehead
Black is definitely a good choice for this one!
Darby
It's the first all black one I've seen done and it makes the 110 look sinister indeed.
BerndM
Looks really nice and black is a good choice for the rather deep panal lines.
stevehnz
That looks really nice. It also appears as though the Printscale decals behaved OK, one hears all sorts of things about them? Steve.

Bangor Lad
Nice build and a really good finish. I've steered clear of all black finishes as I think they are one of the toughest to pull off.
Meatbox8
A really nifty looking '110. A beautifully smooth finish and I really like how you highlighted the panel lines and exhaust stains.
Mark4700
Looks awesome in black, and it helps to hide those trenches of panel lines.

Steve. Thanks for all the comments. Funny you should mention that Steve. I did have some problems with the decals. For a start, they float off the backing paper after a nano second, which caught me out. They also need very delicate handling once on the model. And the white outline crosses are separated into four parts! In the end I took crosses and swastikas from my spares and just used the codes and Geschwader badge. These settled down nicely once in position, but I'm afraid I won't be using this particular make of decals again.

Simon382
Looks good! Reminds me of a build many years ago when I was a yoof?!? As I remember it ended it's days attached to a banger. Your's is considerably better
kapam
Looks excellent! The black night fighter look really sets it off. I know the Airfix Bf 110 gets short shrift up against the Eduard kit (probably rightly so) but I feel this makes a very respectable model if you're not too fussy about a few (arguably minor) accuracy matters and panel lines.
