Bodmin
Well at last I've completed the build. Been a graft at times and my first attempt at this scale. It hasn't turned out too bad in the end. On the whole I'm happy and have enjoyed the build. A few imperfections in the paintwork, dirt, dust and grime etc. but lets just call that natural weathering. Would I build another one? Most definately, but I'd miss out the engine and motor. I aim to add to this over time...namely a DC Trolly Acc and some mechanics. Overdid the gun port weathering a little Panel lining is not something I'm very good at so didn't want to risk it. And the engine runs!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for looking.

Any problems with the build at all ?? Plenty. Mainly fit issues. Nothing that can't be overcome with careful thought and filler. Also fitting the 20mm guns is awkward particularly if you want them showing through the wing panels. A section in my WIP addresses this. Thanks for your compliments. Epeeman
Excellent work on your large Airfix Sptifire, Bodmin - you have achieved a really good finish there. I've built this one in the past (I will also be building the mk1 version shortly) so appreciate your work getting it all to fit together. Spitfire31
One of the best 1:24th Airfix Spits I've hade the privilege of resting my eyes on! And the starter cable looks reassuringly heavy duty… ;-) Maginificent work! Kind regards, Joachim

Very flattering of you to say so. Not sure I would go that far. But as I said earlier, I'm pleased with the result and as always lessons learnt will be taken to the next build. Newbie(kinda)
Superb! Whatever the 'fit issues' were, you've done a damn fine job dealing with them. I've wanted to build this kit (well, the MK1 version in all honesty) since I was a kid...and guess what my folks got me for Christmas 1975 (I think)...a P51. Nooooooo!!
