bentwaters81tfw
Roy, as I said to Pete last week, A 1/48 F-4 phantom nosecone has these dimensions. Just an aside, the large fairings in the 'wings' should be underneath. They are undercarriage fairings. I know it's just mocked up, but I wondered if Pete's 'master' had been wrongly assembled.
roymattblack
Many thanks for the info... Hopefully, one of the good chaps here is turning me a nose on his lathe... In the meantime - quite a bit done. The body parts are all sorted and I've cast a good few sets in resin 'in case'. Decals also drawn up and printed. I've started to build up a first model as a test. Hopefully it will work out. Roy. Edited February 2, 2017 by roymattblack
Pete in Lincs
That's looking more than good. That picture of XL-5 landing, is it just me that can see shades of Thunderbird 1 in it? And, I was wondering what the small 'spaceship' in one of my spares boxes was. Now I know, it's the 'interceptor unit' from this, http://randar.com/image/156714086990 I'm still not sure how I got it though!

GordonD
On 24/01/2017 at 5:11 PM, The Tomohawk Kid said: This http://murdersville.co.uk/museum/parachute-toy-quintacetti/ A friend and I were talking about this toy just last week, and then I come across this thread! <cue Twilight Zone theme...> I don't remember mine having the separate Steve Zodiac figure, but I suppose it must have, unless there were two versions. I do seem to recall that mine had an additional nosecone, without the fins that the Fireball Junior had. Memory tells me you were supposed to use that one when it was windy, though I don't see what difference it would have made.
