lifeofbrian
I have found the outer tanks on Hannants(Attack Squadron USN 150 gal Douglas Fuel Tank ASQ48038), but I'm not sure about the center one, anyone know?

The AD usually didn't carry both a center-line tank and a pair of outer tanks. If a mission needed more fuel than two 150-gallon tanks or a 300-gallon tank on the center-line station, then 300-gallon tanks were loaded on the wing stations. The main exception was the tanker mission, for which a refueling store was carried on the center-line station. See http://thanlont.blogspot.com/2013/10/texaco.html For a summary of external tanks, see http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2011/07/douglas-low-drag-external-fuel-tanks.html For information on the refueling store, see http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2015/06/things-under-wings-inflight-refueling.html
lifeofbrian
Thanks, so would the center pylon usually remain empty when using the two outer tanks? 19 hours ago, Tailspin Turtle said: The AD usually didn't carry both a center-line tank and a pair of outer tanks. Finn
Here is a side view of another one, note the c/l bomb has a fuze extender, also the wing bombs are Mk-81 250lb bombs: Jari
lifeofbrian
I notice that they don't all have that, I'll do mine without as it says in the Tamiya kit I'm building, I hate the way they look. 18 hours ago, Creepy Pete said: Interesting.
