goose
I always base coat with halfords rattle can of grey primer first, then white primer seems to work ok for me. Hope this helps
fewr9fkr9595
Mr base white 1000. Very dense pigment. Good for killing off other colors on areas that need to be repainted in white or bright primary shades.
Graham Boak
It rather sounds as though you have some of the Humbrol paint that recently has been criticised for its low pigmentation. Before jumping to that conclusion, however, stir, stir, stir and stir again. If this still looks poor then check for any settled pigment at the bottom of the tin. Drag this out using a piece of scrap runner and mix in a small bowl to get paint of the consistency you like. If you can't get decent results from this then you probably do have a duff tin and try another product - as recommended above, for example. fewr9fkr9595
Stirred for two hours?!? Life is too short dude. Switch brands when you can.
Steve Noble
White primer is your friend, painting white over grey primer can take forever.
