The HDW 212 class are a very modern submarine, development program began in 1994. First boat was laid down 1998 and launched 2002. They have advanced non nuclear air independent propulsion, basically hydrogen fuel cells. In many ways they are a lot stealthier than even a nuclear submarine, which generates more heat signature and noise from the reactor. Fantastic submarines. Revell also made a 1/144 kit of a 206 class, which is a much earlier HDW diesel electric submarine and a 1/144 214 class, which has similar tech to the 212 which got sold to the Greeks mostly and has some serious surfaced stability issues! 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
