Oy Vay, by 1985 I had already done a hitch in the Marine Corps and had been on the police department for 6 years.

I like the weld bead, rivet and zimm possibilities. I have a cheap soldering iron that might just lend itself to modification..................................................

I have an old one, which is currently not working for some reason. I used it on my return to modelling after 35yr gap, to recreate zimmerit on a 1/35th Tiger. It worked well, but I will say that you have to be careful with the temperature. If you have it set too high the fumes can give you a serious headache! So, set it at a temperature that JUST melts the plastic AND DO IT IN A WELL VENITALATED ROOM!
