Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor, Limber & 25pdr

well day 1 of no work (or between jobs)... quad has been painted. Mr Hobby "Sail" seems a good starting point. Any thoughts on how well it will mix with Vallejo acrylic to lighten? Must say, Mr Hobby sprays really well when mixed with their own thinner - think I may start getting more of their colours...

Well I'd say your first day between jobs has been very well spent. It certainly looks good under the paint!

Kind regards,

Stix

cheers Stix... letting it dry for a couple of hours then may try some modulation... not decided if I should do "micky mouse ears" scheme or leave her plain and weathered

How about masking the front windows in such a way, as to show the wipe area clear, as if the wipers have used, whilst the rest similarly weathered to match the rest of the Quad?

Tony, the Eduard PE i have used comes with masks to do just that.... Am tempted

No photo, wash done which has started the streaking process. Next coat of gloss needs to go on next then can do chipping and oil paint work (mostly streaking i think)

Of course i still need to do the tyres, storage, front window frames etc....

Hi Rob. I think the dusting effect works and I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your other weathering effects.

Hope you have a great Easter Weekend.

Kind regards,

Stix

  • 4 weeks later...

more progress... stowage added, eduard windows added - think I over did the "dusting" on them tho...  next stop will be the tarp for the roof and then dusting up the wheels with pigments
