Airfix 1/72 Hunting Jet Provost T.Mk.3

Recommended Posts

Started this just prior to the New Year and did the majority of the build and paintjob on the 1st and 2nd of January.

Airfix 1/72 Hunting Jet Provost T.3. straight out of the box.

Gunze paint for the white and Light Aircraft Grey, Tamiya flat black, Vallejo silver and Xtracrylix for the red.

Decalled yesterday, glossed up, masking removed and last couple of bits added this morning.

Wonderful job on this little Jet Provost.

But just a little question: why do you use 4 different brands of paint to achieve your work?

Personally I only use one, and since 1963 it has always been the same, Humbrol.

(in 1963 I was 12 years old and just started with scale modelling.)

Cheers. Polo.

A really neat Jet Provost.

The incorrect positioning of the tricky undulating demarcation line between the red and the white on the fuselage can often spoil an otherwise well finished model, but not in this case, you've got it spot on.

Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous build. May I ask if Gunze LAG is the best match for 1970's RAF trainers. Do you know if Vallejo or Tamiya have colors that would also work? Thanks

I tend to use acrylics these days due to the huge difference in drying time. I did try to use just Humbrol acrylics, but they just kept on clogging up my airbrush.

OK Falcon, I forgot to say that I use Humbrol paints, but never the acrylics;

I only use Enamels, they need more time to dry, but I find the result a way far better.

But that's only me.

Good night to every one. Polo.
