Dragon 1/35 M2A1 Halftrack

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

This is a recently completed Dragon 1/35 M2A1 Halftrack.

Build Summary
I initially planned to do this in a chamo scheme, but with time running short, and personal preference getting in the way, I decided for a single colour desert scheme instead. The kit had many more parts than I am usually accustomed to and builds up into the most detailed model kit I have built to date. It is also the most weathering I have ever done on a kit as well, so I hope it turned out ok .

Kit Details from www.scalemates.com
Brand: Dragon
Title: M2A1 Half-Track 2 in 1
Number: 6329
Scale: 1:35
Type: Full kit
Includes: Plastic sprues, Photoetch, Waterslide decals, Clear parts, Rope
Released: 2006 | Initial release - new tool

Nice, weathering is very well done, one issue I can see is the feed tray on the Browning .50 is hinged at the front nearest the barrel and not to the rear.

They would not be left in the open position for long, only loading fresh ammo and showing the gun clear, best to keep the dirt and dust out of the working parts:)

That's a wonderful example, beautifully weathered, a small point but those seats look like real ones which really does add to the build.

A half track is one AFV that I've never built before, but having seen yours, I could be tempted. Nicely weathered without going over the top.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Like they said, pretty awesome weathering.  After looking at yours and some of the other halftracks I've got the bug so I'm working on a German sdKfz 7 8ton halftrack as a tractor for my 15cm howitzer. (which I haven't built yet either)

Hope the paint job turns out half as good as yours.

Regards,

Lloyd
