kitman
HI - Can anyone advise as to what is the best thiner for MR COLOR paints?
fewr9fkr9595
Mr color thinner. (Blue label) Or their self levelling thinner. (Yellow label) Also can use cellulose thinner too with them. Not to be confused with the mr hobby aqueous line which work with most acrylic type thinners.
Space Ranger
Mr. Color Levelling Thinner is almost a requirement if you are airbrushing.
Rabbit Leader
+1 for their Levelling thinner.. it will stink out the house, however you'll be so proud of that lovely smooth finish you'll forget all about it. Cheers.. Dave
Steve Noble
Levelling thinner works beautifully...
kitman
Hi - Thanks for the replies, they are very helpful. What colour to thinner ratios would you recommend for those mentioned thinners?
Rabbit Leader
No set rule to be honest. I'd start with a 50/50 ratio at about 20 psi and see how you feel with it. Good luck.. Dave
JeffreyK
+1 50/50 with Levelling Thinner to start with, but possibly thinner. Sprays absolutely beautifully, no problems at all with spitting, clogging, orange peel.... For an extra smooth/glossy finish, spray some neat Levelling Thinner over the top as a wet coat (careful not to cause any runs). It extends the drying time quite a bit (Mr Color dries very fast indeed), but you get a perfect finish. J
