Happy New Year

and thanks for adding me. I just want to introduce myself as a new member. One of my main topics is western allies of the ETO in the slightly unusual 1/87 scale.

Hi Macki and welcome to BM.

When I read '1/87th I thought, oh what a shame... but then I saw the pics.

Superb dioramas made to look even better with great photography.

I personally don't know why people make such small scaled models, unless it really is a matter of space/storage/display, but I'm sure you can be tempted to the world of 1/35th!

Thanks for sharing your work,

Rearguards and happy new year,

Badder

A Happy New Year to you too Mackie and welcome to BM.

That's one hell of a way to make an entrance!

They're all stunning dioramas, beautifully made and presented.

Well done and thank you for sharing them.

Two main reasons why i prefer 1/87, you can have realistic distances in the dioramas and i love to upgrade the old Roco Minitank models from the 60s and 70s :) Like for example the Dragon Wagon:

Hi Mackie

Great models - I would love to see an overview of the entire display - it looks like a huge diorama. For those who can't see straight to work in the smaller scales, well - get some loupes. :)

Thanks Hardcastle and DWC1968,

the diorama is made out of two modules, approx 24 by 24 inch (60 x 60 cm). Without glasses and loupes i can't see a thing B)

if i redecorate it (changing road signs etc), it can be used for scenes of Nato exercises in the 60s and 70s in northern germany

Very nice with the Market Garden setup.  Both my granddads were there coming up the road.  One was infantry and one artillery.  One survived to tell the tale & the other is buried in Oosterbeek.

What can I say that haven't already been said! :hmmm:

Great models and a great way of presenting them. :goodjob:

You have a good eye for detail and how to present them in some very atmospheric photos! :D

Very good! :worthy:

Cheers :bye:

The Roco products must be hard to get nowadays?

Actually not, most of them are still in production: Minitanks

The others you can get on the bay ;)
