theplasticsurgeon
Next step, out with the scalpel and cutting board to cut out that Falcon shape. First cut was intended to be rough, then tut tailfeathers in afterwards. paint on the sand, remove the mask. Disaster - it didn't work! Next step - how I did this better. theplasticsurgeon
So my next idea was to paint out the sand patch mush larger and wait for that to dry. I took the Falcon shape paper I'd cut out earlier, and cut those tailfeathers in. I stuck this to the model using some foil glue I've got - though I reckon copydex would do as well. Pressed on firmly, right round the edges. Bit of a problem with the claw, I'll freehand that. And a patch on the tailfeathers this side. Painted on the brown, working from the paper outwards, and removed the masks as soon as both sides were painted. I won't be doing all that for numbers on this model.
theplasticsurgeon
A bit more progress over the weekend. Remaining decals fitted, canopy framed. And radome painted. This kit only has one pilot. Tomorrow one gets hijacked from elsewhere in my stash.
theplasticsurgeon
Pilot up front came from my spares. The kit's pilot - well I could only fit him into the back. And this is what she looks like now.
Jabba
I have always liked the Israeli colour scheme, and like the way that you did the Falcon stencil on the tail.
theplasticsurgeon
Completion, well I'll put it onto a stand this weekend, to pose as one of my reference pictures. Tanks fitted, and those curiously coloured missiles First member of my Israeli Air Force. And an after the event flyby photo.
