Airfix 1/48 P-40

Finished a couple of weeks ago.  I liked this kit.  I am aware that the brown is much too light but I like it the way it is.  I also screwed up the exhaust staining on the left hand side as the Airbrush was playing up.

Great looking model of a classic aircraft, that just so happens to be another one of my favourites! 

What more can one wish for!

Looks great after i heard bad things about this newer kit.As for the brown in different light conditions things do look different anyway so nothing wrong with your interpretation.

Glyn - I think the bad reviews of the kit are rather unkind.  I am no expert on the type but I found the kit a really easy to build model.  Didn't need much filler.  Cant complain about so many new kits coming onto the market
