Airfix's new Hunting Percival Jet Provost has been around for only a few months, but our Ready for Inspection Forum has already been populated with some rather excellent examples of the finished article. Now Eduard have released a set pre-painted photo etched details for the cockpit and airframe, as well as a set of pre-cut masks for the canopy and landing gear.

In usual Eduard style, the set contains both pre-painted an plain parts spread across two frets. The pre-painted set includes harnesses and ejection handles for the kit's seats, as well as a multi-layered instrument panel and parts for the centre console. The unpainted fret contains additional details for the sides of the ejector seats, as well as the cockpit sidewalls and rudder pedals. Also on this fret are replacement torque links for the landing gear legs and hinges for the flaps, elevators and rudder. Additional details are provided for detailing the cockpit canopy and, best of all, there are parts to represent the FOD guards. The odd blade aerial and intake scoop have also been thrown in for good measure.

There isn't much to say about these parts, other than the fact that they will make masking the canopy and wheels a quick and painless process.

Conclusion

Airfix's Jet Provost looks to be a nice little kit with a charm all of its own. Now that the likes of Eduard are producing aftermarket sets for it, I expect to see a few more on the tables at shows up and down the country. This set adds plenty to the kit without going over the top. Recommended.
