Rick Brown
Chaps. Having got the taste for some Revell Aqua paint recently, I was wondering what would be a good match for Dark Green, Ocean grey and Medium Sea Grey in their range? Just throwing together their 1/32nd Mossie and fancied a change of paint manufacturer. Cause I can... Rick.
johnd
Revell recommend: Dark Green - 68 Ocean Grey - 79 Med Sea Grey - 43 John.
Rick Brown
Thanks John. But are they a good match...? Rick.
johnd
Ah. Not really. I recall that 79 can be improved by the addition of a fair quantity of white. 68 is closer to its target but not exact. I can't speak for 43 as I've not seen it but it's meant to be USAF Matt Grey so is unlikely to be spot on. I use Xtracrylix for Ocean Grey, Humbrol 116 and 165 for Dark Green and Med Sea Grey respectively. Revell Aqua is good paint, though. I can see why you'd want to use it. Rick Brown
Interesting. I have xtracrylix, Vallejo and Tamiya, but fancied a change. If the revell's a poor match, and needs a bit of mixing, I'll fall back to my default choices. Rick.
