Admiral Puff
I picked up the Karaya kit at Telford in 2013, and have been contemplating making a start on it. The Karaya instructions say nothing about the interior colours - can anyone make a suggestion? I'm thinking maybe silver with black frame tubing, control column and seat, but that's purely guesswork on my part.
JWM
Natural metal seems to be highly probable - look at the inside of Sm 55 Cheers J-W
Admiral Puff
Good enough for me - many thanks! (I don't really know why I'm bothering - the cockpit opening is so small that nothing will be seen once the fuselage is together! But then they haven't let me out for a while ...) bertopinal
The fuselage of the S.65 ( a Schneider Trophy racer not a transport like the S.55 ) had a structure of welded steel tubes covered with aluminium; the steel parts maybe were painted in anti-corrosion grey paint (Humbrol #1 ?) and aluminium left unpainted. r.
greggles.w
Fascinating aircraft Admiral, be sure to post a WIP thread! (Would be nice if Karaya offered this at 1/48 scale too ...)
ermeio
A yellowish white is a safe option for all pre-war Italian racers' cockpit.
Horatio Gruntfuttock
Lord Puff - perhaps we could do a mini S65 Group Build at David's next week!! I'm glad you are asking these questions as I would be when I start it.

Right, but only for the Macchi built racers whit wooden fuselage; FIAT and SIAI where metallic. r.

You can't see any of it! Greggles, WIP will start shortly.
greggles.w
Not much use for colours, but here's a link to a short film of the S.65 for general interest & motivation: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fy3b8n6DECQ I've not seen film footage. Edits of this one. Nice footage of the Macchi M.67 too!
