Nice! For some reason, I'm loving the Neo Zeon on the back. Great work on the red it looks wonderful so far.

Thanks, im with you on the Neo Zeon decal.

Here is all i have for now, no weathering as such just used washes on the engine and cannon internals and then the shading on the red. Some of the joins are not great but i have learnt so much from doing this i dont mind.

I am thinking i should have put a bit of white on the wings? You can not see but the tip of the cannon is white.

I think it looks good, I'd take some "I think it's finished" pics and decide about the white then? I guess you could mask and touch in those fin-tips, or do you mean the forward shroud bits?

Cheers Will, was thinking just the fin tips.

Two more pictures of the finished build.

And one with its escort zaku.

Not sure about the effects parts.

I think you're right, it probably looks more impressive without the effect parts (much like a real Bandai kit!)

I'm not sure about the white fin-tips because they're right next to the circular white details (thrusters?) - but yellow to pick up the yellow logo might work. Or a ~5mm red band around the white part of the cannon?

Or just draw a line under it, it looks great already :)

Well that has well and truly pi#@ed me off, a reaction to the glue i think has caused a bloody great dent in the main shell. I had decided that is wash finished and i would glue the top and bottom shells to the middle part. I couldn't find the two part epoxy so i used the evostick contact glue, somthing i have used before. Used a small pea size blob to bridge any gaps and all was well until the next day and this showed it god dame ugly face.

You might have to zoom in but you will see it.

I have put it back on the shelf of doom! I could let it all dry out and fill it or i do have another part i could replace it with but i can not face it just now I'm likely to brake somthing.

Here yuk!

i had this exact issue when modding the fuel tanks on the mk3 gundam.
took a week for a big dent to show and came from the inside to out.

Made my mined up to replace the upper hull section last night and made a start on the new one. Adding a mono eye LED and have changed the fin shape slightly.

I managed to get the broken section of and only snapped one of the fins from the engine, so not to bad really.

Thats a swine! Good on you for cracking on with a replacement and not giving up :)

Its has been bugging the hell out of me since I thought I had finished it, I just couldn't leave it like that so the only thing to do was bite the bullet and get it sorted. I am please i have the chance to add the mono eye as I think it will add the missing Zeon detail that the original was lacking.

good job, so much easier to just replace and start again than trying to fix it, with me i tried to fix it and the dent kept growing.

Cheesr, yeh the dent did get a bit bigger over about 6 days so wasn't happy with it at all.

That's a good upgrade, excellent way to take advantage of a mini-disaster. I think it helps a lot with the scale too, it looks bigger automatically because the "window" is small.

Well i was getting sick of this thing sitting on the shelf of doom so i pulled my finger out and finished it of yesterday, i had a miner mishaps with the decals sivering that i sort of fixesd but then ended up with a run in the top coat but im leaving it as it is now, pics to come later.

You can just see the silvering on the decals on the back of tge ship. Also ended up using a smaller decal on the top, i think its works better for the scale.
