Uncle Dick
Is this an RAF type bomb trolley pressed into USAAF service or some American type of bomb trolley? Looks a little like an RAF Type F to me that Airfix have in their RAF Bomber Re-supply set? Also what type of bomb is the crewman holding on the left is that a 100lb bomb? Selwyn
4 minutes ago, Selwyn said: Looks on quick glance to be a type "C" Mk 3 bomb trolley, lots of these were used by the USAAF in UK in WW2. Up to mk 3 had shorter outriggers at the rear so the wheels were closer to the main frame of the trolley. Mk 4 had a bigger frame gap, something to do with the wheels possibly rubbing on the bigger stores which could cause an explosion through friction.
