Boeing Vertol CH-47 Chinook (Airfix 1:72)

Recommended Posts

Truly beautiful Chinook! Congrats!!!

I do hope you nephew will not be running around the house with the model, making rotor noises and practicing auto-rotations!

He should be delighted though.

Well done and extremely thoughtful

Really nice work, very shiny!

Hi F-32 and thank you. The pictures make it look shiner than it is but with hindsight I probably could have put some more matt on her. Continuous lessons to be taken forward :)

Looks great - how big is that beast?

Thanks Ragtag :) It's 1:72 and the fuselage measures 210mm from nose to tail. Include the rotors and that can increase to 410mm if the blades are pointing each way.

Love this Chinook -  that's really great work.

I would hope mine would look a little this this -  but know that's never going to happen.

like this loads.

Thank you Paul - Very kind of you.

Are you doing a WIP? Would be great to follow. I'm sure you'll exceed all expectations ;)

wimbledon99,

no plans of a WIP at the moment  -  this kit is still part of the 'to build' pile.

But I do like the Chinook, once in a blue moon one of these will fly over my place of work (just north of Leicester), and i have to run outside to watch it pass.

Always enjoy the sight (and sound) of these passing over!.

Best Regards, and keep the kits coming!

Hi Nigel. That turned out beautifully. I am well impressed with the finish! Excellent stuff! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Kind regards,

Stix

You are very kind Stix - Thank you :) I'm glad you like her. I'm fixing her to a simple base so that she travels OK and it will make it easier for my nephew to move around. Might just be my first steps towards a vignette one day ;)

Gotta love the old camo scheme, that's what proper chinooks look like!

Outstanding job mate, you've done the kit justice.

Hi Chris,

Apologies for the very late reply - I didn't receive a notification of your post for some reason.

Thank you for the kind words and thank you for the sale of the kit. I'm now awaiting my nephew's next order!! ;)

Cheers

Nigel
