1/32 Revell Spitfire IXc conversion?

I was browsing and saw this listed on Cybermodeller release table

thus :-

Revell AG Spitfire Mk.Ixc (conversion from Spitfire II) 323927 Mar-17

Anyone know anything?  Seems an odd thing to do given the excellent Tamiya IX and the somewhat less than complimentary observations on the Mk 11 they are taking it from.  I suppose it will have the merit of being cheap.  And before anyone else says it a Tamiya sale is not cash for Revell.

Apologies if this is old news - I just learned yesterday that Mafeking was relieved

I applaud Revell for Producing a IX , but I'd have been a LOT happier if they'd simply made the changes necessary to produce a VC.. RAAF/Malta spits without the palaver of  replacing wings..

Still at least it means I have a use for some of the "Aces of the Empire" markings without going bankrupt using Tamiya kits

Hi guys,

as usual: I will post pictures of the testshots as soon as it arrives here. I can´t coment on wings/fuselage - I simply have to see (and show you of course) what will be in the box. So be patient and wait until I can post any pictures of the "new" (e.g. converted) Mk. IX kit.

I`m building on over in WIP and have got to the painting stages,.....seems OK to me and looks like a Mk.IX. The rear seat armour is missing and the seat is a little basic, but apart from that everything is there in the box, not bad for £30 or under. The serface detail is lovely too.

Cheers
