ABeck
Got it today, well, HB..... no correct wing profile (at least not existing), VERY difficult to correct. top fuselage side profile line in front of canopy has aslight curve, just some sanding housing of the air duct below the prop axle too edged on the upper part, can only be be fixed with major efforts engraved panel lines a bit too heavy detail is not overwhelming fit of main components (solid plastic) excellent ---- Shorts Tucano: no traces of insert molding for this variant. ----- What we Need: a resin air duct with correct cross section, new wheels, and for the Shorts Tucano a new nose, prop & spinner, resin canopy with frames, Cockpit details
ABeck
Just an idea for friends from the sanding and putty detachment: The HB top wing which is just flat might replaced with a (cheap) ICM P-51 top wing half which has a fairly better profile and comes close to the original. Material that is hanging over will be cut off, open spaces will be supplemented with parts from the HB wing , plastic and putty. A sanding chunk will bring the whole thing into the propper form. The engraving work will not be too difficult. The main landing gear bay is to be cut from the HB wing tops and to be glued to the lower wing. Regards Tim With so many interesting schemes available for RAF Tucanos, the Shorts Tucano conversion set opportunity is so big that I would be very surprised if someone does not do a conversion soon.
