Not sure if it is just me but that drawing looks more like a EMB 314 Super Tucano than a EMB 312 Tucano. It even has Super Tucano serials!

Hello there dear Homebee.....

Thank you for the presentation of my work!! I did paint the A-29B Super Tucano box art image....now, if Hobby Boos are label it as an 312....i do not know about it!! I did the 314...it is obvious form the antennas and canopy etc etc!!! It happened a few times before...i paint a version in the box art...and they released as a another version!!

Take care!!!

Very definite difference between the Tucano and Super Tucano.  The latter having a lot more horsepower, for one thing.  FWIW, I had the chance to fly the regular Tucano once, it was an impressive airplane.

And a good Caracal Models piece of news:

Thanks KursadA!

CD48125 will be a 1/48 scale sheet intended for the upcoming Hobby Boss EMB-312 Tucano kit.

Yes, I have seen that they posted the wrong box art. It doesn't mean anything.I am pretty sure they will release the right version in July when the kit is out.

Interesting they give you a RAF option,I always thought the nose was different for the Shorts Tucano T1 because of the engine swap, plus afew more smaller details...Airbrake?.

Will pick one up to go with my Super Tucano in the stash

It's almost a totally different aircraft, with reshaped nose, reinforced canopy, ventral airbrake, four bladed prop, different cockpit instrumentation etc.

I really do not like to use expressions such as 'dropped the pooch' as it is too often used unfairly, but...

If they are trying to say there are no differences between Brazilian and UK Tucanos, Hobby Boss have really 'dropped the pooch' with this one.:(

Here is the real ZF136:

Clearly, HobbyBoss did not realize that there are significant differences between the EMB-312 and the RAF Tucano. The canopy and nose will be difficult to correct but I'm sure someone will release an expensive resin set to do what Trumpeter/HobbyBoss should have done in the first place. *SIGH!* Oh, and the proportions of the RAF roundels on the decal sheet look *off* as well. Is it at least accurate for a Brazilian aircraft?

They aren't trying to say anything. They just take any old 4-views scale drawings, various walkarounds, design a kit out of these and sell it. They don't understand the subjects they are depicting (which is normal) and they don't want help (which is less normal and quite frustrating). They want to produce kits, not accurate models.

Think positive. They dropped 25% of the pooch: AFAIK 3 over 4 marking options are relevant.

On the bright side of this l know for a fact that the Philippine Air Force are about to acquire some of these planes to replace their aging Broncos. I think there is one last hurtle to go before the approval is given.

Well I have a scientific/technical background and this may explain why I tend to try to understand who does what, why and how.
