Amerigo Vespucci

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Yep, I'm back after a long long time. Life has been a bit rough with my wife's illness but now all is in control (at 24K a year for medication, it better be). Went back in to the hobby in 2015 and have retired in October 2016 so now, finally, I will have much more time for the models. Left the airliners for ships, still have lots to learn about it but will get there eventually.

Here is the Amerigo Vespucci from Heller at 1/150

Hi Celt,

Really sorry about your wife, I guess there is no other choice but to hang on, it's so important to them to know that we are there standing strong ready to fight. Feel free to PM me if you wish to talk about it, sometimes it makes a world of good.

Thanks for you comments for the ship.

Just clicked on your photo's to enlarge them ... and boy, what an amount of detail you managed to include.  The rigging is brilliant and the sails outstanding.    Excellent work ! !

Glad to hear your wife is better after being ill. Enjoy your modelling !

Wonderful build!

I have this kit in the stash so I can appreciate the extra detail that you have added there.

How would you rate the fit of the kit? any dodgy areas needing much work?

All the best to you and your wife,

Sam.

Thanks Sam, really appreciate it.

As for the kit, all went well except the fitting of the deck front & back are kind of tricky, you might want to look out for those two places. I could probably have forced the front but the back had a nice gap. As for the instructions for the rigging, well, you know, Heller :fraidnot:.

Overall, a nice kit, was fun to do.

  • 4 weeks later...

Bonjourno Roberto,

Thanks for your comments. All is getting better now, the cast is off her leg and she is in physio now.  See post ''real bad day''. Come April we will probably spend a few weeks in your country, Rome, Venise, Pompéi, should be great.
