corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I received a pack from Lowestoft !! Since they no longer send Paints whitout a kit, I must buy a kit Paints are for my Seafire and the Shagbat mainly plus one for Pierre ! Decals are to repair the Airfix ones for my Frightening, but wait did I will waste the decals for 2 low viz fin flashes Certainly not, I'll find another Lightning kit and have a trainer one PE for my Uhu, not any WiP but may be one day when I'll restart her ! Decals for the Hurricane, but they both are metal winged, so I must have another BoB one ??? That's the drama of the modeller.... Every time new ideas... Have a good modelling time, Chaps I go to work Again (must pay that stuff Huh !) Sincerely. CC

I became a specialist of the smuggling.... And when she receive the pack, I say that it is for my friend... Then it's an open door for, "Remember the pack that arrived last week, this kit is a way to thank me..." I know I can be a rude B***** but that's for the sake of modelling Sincerely. bootneck
I'm much older, and have gone through Roger the dodger's "book of 1,000 dodges" many times over, so I'm afraid my wife knows all the tricks! I've been trying to work a way of getting an Airfix Javelin and the response is always "Javelin or food, your choice!"  Getting back to your modelling, I do like to see how other modeller's overcome the odd mis-match or issue with some kits, and your work is quite helpful and entertaining.  Mike

You've done a lot of researches... And Then Bing !! Murphy's Calling See ! The engine for my converted Corsair was well on its way and I find a color pic of that Corsair…. I did'nt knew that such a photo was existing... So now, I restart another Pratt 2800 but an Orange one, Yes Dears, I say an Orange one... Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Here's a view of what has been done so far,  The fuselage has been cut in 4 différents places and today I tried and adjusted the lower wing First cut was intended to move the cockpit forward, then adjusted with resin, CA glue and putty Then giving the good dimensions for the fuselage in saving the cantral part in order to avoid a step ! Then cutting the underside for adjusting the wing. Here's a closer view Here we are !! I'm satisfied ! And I also cut the rump for the tailhook installation The Pratt has all its cylinder too.. Ok Gents have a nice modelling Week end ! Sincerely. CC

corsaircorp
Hello Dears Corsairs fans ! Let's corsairificate a bit ! I will open the cooling vent and reproduce that oval shaped little window, found only on the XF4U This window will be squarred on the -1 and then deleted on the subséquents series ! I use an old Tamiya interior and I will modity it according the prototype cockpit layout ! First repaint it ! It was a radial engine modelling evening ! Now let's compare (2U) the size of the mother and her offspring Okay Gents ! Thank for popping up in my forest of threads and thanks again for your support ! I wish you a good Sunny Sunday… Take care and stay hydrated ! Sincerely. CC

corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Whatever, I suffer from a serious lack of mojo, or may be am I exhausted for this while, IRL is very demanding and with only a mere 13 days of hols, I did'nt disconnect from my job !! Well, enough whinning, Back to Anger now ! I let the paint dry thoroughly, 72hr seem sufficient, then I used canned Mr color varnish (semi gloss for the transfer) Aaaaand…. Ok it's already corrected but nonetheless it's nerve raking !! Now look at this, Yup ! there will be an F4U-2 I put the radar scope at this place since I did'nt find piccies of a F4U-2, so I read that the scope was in the center of the Dashboard. Knowing that most of the NiFi were modified on the field from late F4U-1, I guess that they did'nt rearrange the whole Dashboard ! Now my XF4U... starting to fix the spine !! Mmmmh Not too bad, I will put some fine band of plasticard, some putty or resin and then Guess what ?? SANDING !! Good side here, but Murphy striked again !! Allied to my numbness…. We've got this !! Hu ! Nice finger print you stupid CC. No modelling tomorrow, we get at the restaurant for my daughter birthday. Have a good modelling time Dears ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, After havin' a good breakfast…. With this... And This…. I was on the mood to get my -4 ouyt of oblivion !! Of course sanding was the order, but now she start to look better !! Cowling has the right shape now and the belly is almost right ! The fact that we already are in September and I did'nt finish a Corsair yet will surely be a strong incentive !! Have a great modelling time Dears !! Sincerely. WOW, your mojo must be running very high!!!  Have to confess though that I'm in a similar situation. I have around 15 kits that are almost ready for decaling but, lost my mojo to finally finish them😫  By the way, one of them is the Hasegawa good old Corsair from the good-old days when the only thing I was using was glue and paint !!!  Looking forward to see yours finished!!!   Cheers Shalako
corsaircorp
Hello Dears ! 2018 is about to finish…. And no Corsairs in RFI yet …. So Run baby run !! Crack on CC A year whitout a F4U ?? it's as mad as So, my trumpy -4 is on its way of sanding, putty and sanding and …. Now the shape is quite right !! even from a profile viewing Some finishing for the surfaces… And then straight to the painting booth !! Now, there is this special one, I enthusiasticly sand the spine, since the shortening of the fuselage has make it far too steep ! It has obviously created a flat area on the spine !! that was impossible to avoid !! so, I Added some plastic from the interior No needs to be nicely done, it's just a way to compensate the plastic lost in the sanding battle ! Here's the way I do for having the cockpit coaming right at its place ! I used some resin, but for the spine, I would'nt dare since the amount of resin is far bigger ! When the resin cure, it turn hot and I risk to melt the plastic ! More to come soon ! Must finish a Corsair, I must finish a Corsair !!! Thank for popping in Dears ! Sincerely.
