Ongoing DDoS Attack causing Forum Slowness   26/04/17

In case you have missed the announcement, the reason that the forum has been slow at times since the minor version update the other day is due to a Denial of Service attack, brute force attack on our email, and judging by the lag with our FTP response, that too.  If you're feeling like you're experiencing a glitch in the Matrix, you're not wrong.  This is the same MO as the attack in September 2016 that occurred when we transitioned to the new version 4 of the software.  We're currently working with US and UK cyber-crime departments, who specialise in this sort of thing, and we're hopeful that we'll be able to track them down this time by using the accumulated evidence already held.    We are pretty certain that it's a continuation of the same attack last year, only at a reduced intensity to deter people from using the site "because it's terribly slow", rather than taking it down completely, and we're also sure of the motivations of those responsible.  Spite.   Please bear with us in the interim, and wish us luck in dealing with these.... "people".

3D visa issue

10 posts in this topic

Hello,

I've tried ordering twice, and both orders have been cancelled on account of some lack of verification to do with my Visa. I do indeed have the securelink service enabled and find this very irritating.

I am just trying to buy a model.

Why don't you  email them direct at info@wonderlandmodels.com, rather than post on here?

It may not be Wonderland Models ..... it could be Visa security blocking it ...... the same thing happened to me booking flights ..... nothing to with the airline or my bank it was "Verified by Visa" that stopped the transaction.

I did. Was cancelled twice despite the emails. Wonderland emailed me to notify me, and as far as I am concerned it is an issue on their end.

The email indicated they had cancelled the order. Not visa. I have additionally offered to use PayPal.

Don't disagree with you but it is not pertinent or of any use here.  Call them and talk to them direct and get it sorted that way.  This just looks as if you are trying to do a bit of public blaming here.

Ok thanks for the replies. Do they not check this page for issues? In a way, I am trying to get an answer as I have had no replies to my emails other than the cancellation emails. Which, weren't a reply FYI

I thought that bringing up the issue here would either draw out someone else who had the same issue, or grad the attention of WM themselves to deal with what is now a public complaint. Calling won't work at this point as I am in North America. But thanks for the advice and I may try that if I get no reply here.

I have no prior experience with WM and no gripe. I was recommended to try them by a fellow member and tried to buy something.

If this section is not for hobbyists to reach out to vendors then I welcome any moderator to delete the topic.

Ah, didn't realise your location was international.  You may attract their attention on here, they are regular visitors, but I can't see them wishing to discuss the financial issues of an order in public.

If you are ordering from outside the UK  I know that WM ask that the card used is signed up to the "Verified by Visa" or "Mastercard Securecode" schemes as appropriate. These schemes designed to protect both card holder and retailer from online fraud.

Just do a google search for "verified by Visa + the name of your bank" and you will be able to find all the information you need and you should be able to sign your card up to the scheme online in a few minutes. If not contact your bank and ask them how to do this.

If you go to the Help section of the WM website it is also explained there in the paragraph entitled  "Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode"

Thanks @rod mcq, not sure if I mentioned it previously, but I do have my visa setup in such a way.

Thanks for offering your help though. :)
