KonaDawg
Hi all, Made a bit of a start on this awesome kit I bought a while ago. very nice model which I will try to do a bit of justice to. it doesn't help though when you buy TS51 instead of TS15 😏. oh well, let's see how it goes 😊
Mumbly
Looking forward to this. That and the 003 are on the shortlist for me, as a kid I was a Cevert fan, and still remember hearing of his death on the radio. Still TS51 looks very seventies, are you sticking with it or going to go back to Tyrrell blue? Edited November 23, 2016 by Mumbly
Bozothenutter
Following this....though I've gone off car kits a bit.....I still love'm. Correct colour is chrysler uk mood indigo ca 1970
KonaDawg
The metallic blue looks so nice 😄 I think I'll stick with it. it's not accurate but it looks good. Will post a few more pics soon.
Maximum warp
I'll be following too! I haven't taken the plunge yet to get myself an Ebbro kit, so please show plenty of pics to us so we can see how it goes together!
KonaDawg
Work continues. decided to de-chrome some or all of the parts and work instead with the Vallejo metallics. they are pretty good so far but do not seem to like the cold temps we have up here at the moment.
silver911
I like this a lot....one of my favourite periods and cars A common trick used with rattle cans also applies to airbrush acrylics....stand the paint in warm water before using....do this with the thinners also (if you are using any)....you can also try varying the pressure a little.
KonaDawg
Thanks for the tip silver! Suspect that might help a great deal. the ts51went on superbly. I will Defo Dr using them again.
silver911
Your welcome....just remember....'Zero' are lacquer based....so don't heat them...they actually create their own heat when being sprayed!...due to the friction of the air.
Hugh Jampton
Will be keeping a close eye on this thread, great looking car in such an innovative era in f1. Your right about the cold, if it's brass monkey's down south, I hate to imagine what it's like in Scotland. It certainly hinders spraying. Looks like you've made a great start, looking forward to seeing it's progression. Regards John

Mumbly
Got mine today I had no idea that the kit allowed either 002 or 003! I was all set to build the Cevert car, but seeing the superb mirror stalks for the Stewart car has changed my mind. I assume the same is available on the Monaco specification 003 to allow a 002 also. I wonder how long before a decal kit comes out for 004 for Depailler? I have seen them for the Lucky Strike (I think). Tony
KonaDawg
I've not had a chance to do anything major recently, just some prep work on the metallic parts. Good luck with your build Mumbly.

Hugh Jampton
Glad to see this back on the workbench. How much more left until it's finished? It looks like you only have the front and rear wings left. Regards John
KonaDawg
Hi John, not far from the end now. Just need to find a bit of spare time. Got the wing and and those delicate mirror mounts 🙂
