Builder
Hi All, This is my completed Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Fargo Express. I built this using Arifix kit A02065A - 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk IXc. This was built as part of the current Mediterranean Theatre of Operations Group Build. Build Summary I had loads of fun with this one. Doing up a custom paint and decal scheme was a bit challenging but the result turned out allright. One of the decals tore off, so I decided to repaint it, the result isn't the best, but I am satisfied with it. I also left it with a Satin finish as opposed to a Matte finish, personal preference. The kit was painted using mainly Humbrol enamels. I also did up a small circular base for it too. The paint scheme and decals were taken from a book called Fighters over Italy. I also did up a video with a rotating display, and was happy with that result too - all the little imperfections can be seen in this! All kit details and build progress are here in the build thread FInal Video Final Pictures I hope you all like it. All comments welcome! Graeme H
Nice build, curious about it being a Mk VIII with a fixed tailwheel and early style rudder

Beard
The finish is fantastic, it looks really smart, but I would've thought a MkVIII would have the 'pointy' rudder (although I can't find any photos of the actual aircraft's tailplane to confirm this) and would definitely have a retractable tailwheel. Neither are hard to put right, the rudder is in the AZ and Eduard's MkIX boxing (if you need more of an excuse to buy another Spitfire, I have several spare rudders so send me a PM, if you want me to send you one) and the tailwheel bay doors could me made from plastic card (I have a feeling that they're also in the Eduard MKIX).

DennisTheBear
Nice build and paint job on this model. Not to do with your build but rather with the kit, but the canopy seems rather odd looking. Is this a known thing with this kit?
