Ongoing DDoS Attack causing Forum Slowness   26/04/17

In case you have missed the announcement, the reason that the forum has been slow at times since the minor version update the other day is due to a Denial of Service attack, brute force attack on our email, and judging by the lag with our FTP response, that too.  If you're feeling like you're experiencing a glitch in the Matrix, you're not wrong.  This is the same MO as the attack in September 2016 that occurred when we transitioned to the new version 4 of the software.  We're currently working with US and UK cyber-crime departments, who specialise in this sort of thing, and we're hopeful that we'll be able to track them down this time by using the accumulated evidence already held.    We are pretty certain that it's a continuation of the same attack last year, only at a reduced intensity to deter people from using the site "because it's terribly slow", rather than taking it down completely, and we're also sure of the motivations of those responsible.  Spite.   Please bear with us in the interim, and wish us luck in dealing with these.... "people".

HAMEX Show Saturday 3rd December

25 posts in this topic

Morning, Folks.

Just to give people a heads-up about the December Hamex Show (in the village of Hanslope, just north of Milton Keynes). It's on SATURDAY 3rd December this year (not the Sunday, folks!).

It's a small, friendly show held in the village's local community hall. A great place to pick a pre-Christmas bargain.

As usual, I will be there, with all the many kits and books that I didn't manage to sell in the Telford Kit Swap (and there are LOADS of those). I'll be pricing everything to sell.

See ya'll there!

Chris.

PS: Yes, John, I will be bringing the 1/16th scale Chi Town Dragster, just like I promised. See you and Denise there....

Kitswap tables still available £5 each, please get in touch to book.

Bacon Butties should be available early to warm up those that like them.

Ta,

Paul

If there's any interest, I might have for sale at the show a 32 inch resin 2001 Discovery, Aliens 1/1 pulse rifle kit and possibly a Warp B5 Omega.

Just a bump for the Hamex Kit swap.

There should be a few tables available on the day if anyone would like one.

Also, we now have a date for our popular smallspace show.  It will be on Sunday 2nd July 2017...

We are still mulling over the shows content, but we have a couple of ideas.

The main one is that K9 will be 40 years old next year...

Thanks,

Paul

It's a good kit at just the right size, bought it earlier this year from the States

Very very OT (and hopefully I'm allowed to post this), but for people into real world stuff I have a mint condition bombsight computer from a Lancaster, Mosquito or similar aircraft for sale and an Afghanistan era Soviet armour vest that's perfect for all your cosplay needs :)

We put down 4, but it's usually earlier than 4pm,more like 2:30-3. People start to leave once they have sold their stash..

Popped in literally for ten minutes - reason for the short stay was there's too much to do on Saturdays this close to Christmas... (apparently!)  Didn't want to miss it tho' as had been to all the other Hamex shows.  Still managed to pick up a 'want' for the stash..  :)

Thanks to everyone that attended, quite a busy show this year.

It looks like we made about £450 for the hall funds.

Now onto the Model Market - Sunday January 29th 2017

A room full of traders, as always, with a wide variety of offerings.

Entry £1 a last year, the Honesty pig will be there again waiting to take entry your money!

http://www.hamex.co.uk  for details.

Thanks,

Paul
