Slater
Those numbers don't look all that good - or is that about average for aircraft of that age and type? http://www.defensenews.com/articles/french-naval-aircrafts-operational-availability-revealed-in-letter-to-mp
pinky coffeeboat
This seems pretty standard and not really anything we in the UK could mockingly laugh about. Those who know such things will probably look at some of those (appalling) statistics with a bit of envy... Truro Model Builder
Well, the average age of the Super Etendard is not 46 years, so that rather makes the rest of the info rather suspect in my view.
XV107
The age error is simply a typo, based upon the table... er... ici (with apologies to non-French speakers).
John B (Sc)
If those figures are for total annual availability for the full 365 days a year, 24 hrs a day, then the percentages are reasonable. The Hawkeyes look bad, but with a very small fleet big variations will happen. Recall these things are like race horses not cart horses. They need a lot of TLC, and in between exercises and known demand times work may be deferred. They also have to last many years. John B
