Mancunian airman
I wonder if anybody has the knowledge of where this vehicle plugged in the pipework to test the aircraft's system. I am carrying out a conversion to place this vehicle on my diorama, I am thinking that the Oxygen bottles that were crated under the rest bed were replenished via the bomb-bay; would this be the same located for testing and purging the system I wonder ??? If this is the case then I know to place the vehicle near to the trailing edge of the main wings . . . Any help would be appreciated Ian Edited November 13, 2016 by Mancunian airman
Finn
This pic shows a cart being used, maybe for the O2 bottles you mentioned, perhaps that is the same spot where any testing and purging was done: Jari
Ossington 2
I think that there is a connection about the centre of the bomb bay. ISTR that the aircraft oxygen bottles were directly above it. Would make sense to me, shorten pipe runs to the minimum.
Finn
There is a pic here: https://218squadron.wordpress.com/avro-lancaster-mk-b-i-mk-b-iii/ that shows a oxygen vehicle working on a Lancaster.
