Davek72
I will join this GB if I may with an AZ Models P-51B in Foreign Service. Its a limited run kit with the usual issues which probably means I am going to make a bit of a mess of it ;-) The kit: http:// http:// All three options look very colourful but I am thinking of going for the Swedish ex 356th FG plane. I have always have a soft spot for Swedish markings. Doing a bit of research I came across the following webpage which sets out the background to Swedish Mustangs much better that I could. NB the first picture is of the plane I am going to build but appears to be before it was repainted. If anyone has more info please shout. http://mustang.gaetanmarie.com/articles/sweden/sweden.htm All comments much appreciated. Dave

alex
After the first picture, I thought "jeez, one more who always mixes up Switzerland with Sweden!" But the second picture made it clear! Nice and simple scheme, not seen very often. Alex

Davek72
Finally some bench time... First impressions are that this is a very nice little model. Cockpit nicely detailed and all went together very neatly. Apologies for the lack of decent photos. I thought I had taken some as I went along. http:// Dave

Davek72
All coming together rather quickly now. For a short run kit it's actually rather nicely engineered. http:// http:// Just a bit of sanding and a small amount of filler (most of the white in the picture is actually paint to make sanding easier). Davek72
Initial paint on. Vallejo Model Air albeit with a hairy stick rather than airbrush (partly time (my airbrush is not currently set up) and partly due to a chest infection which I don't want to aggrevate). There appears to be some confusion on the correct Vallejo paint matches so I went with the ones that looked right to my eyes. Dave
Davek72
Decals on. These AK decals are quite thin and came away from the backing very quickly so plenty of care was required. Even so I broke a couple and had to do some remedial work. One odd thing is the Swedish roundels. There were 4 in one size and 2 in a smaller size. The instructions indicate that all 6 roundels are the same decal which is impossible. The plans also seem to suggest that all 6 roundels are the same size. So either way there is an error. In the end I used the larger roundels on the wings which appear to match some photo's I have seen and the smaller ones on the fusilage.
