French AF Jaguar A in Desert Storm questions

Did the French AF use the RP36P recce pod on their Jaguar A's in Desert Storm?

I want to scratch build an RP-36P recce pod for my Heller 1/48 Jaguar A, but I need to decide on which aircraft to build and what camo scheme to use on it.

The only pics I have been able to find of Jaguar A's with the RP36P pod are taken at the 2003 Reconnaissance Meet at Florennes Belgium.

COOL!! 

 

And it's also equipped with the "armpit" chaff/flare dispensers. Now I just have to source some decals, and figure out what the upper & right side camo scheme looks like (and what colours were used).

I would take the FS matches with a very large grain of desert sand (*rim shot*), but hopefully it will be of help with the general patterns.

Thanks for those profiles, they will really help with the camo pattern. I will try to match the colours, based on available photos, and the Berna decal sheet I just ordered from Hannants.

The camo pattern is the same as the regular green/grey camo, just replace the gray by the lightest colour and your done

I would recommend Gunze H313 and H321 for the Daguet camo.  I've seen it used online (on a french forum) and it looked very convincing!

They do indeed. As I mentioned in my reply to Hook, I ordered one of the 2 available sheets (48096) from Hannants last week. Looking forward to getting it.

The French Jaguars wore six different desert schemes during Op Daguet(Desert Storm), the one in the picture above looks very much like Arabia Type 2 Creme/Sable, approx FS paint codes are 33531 and 33617.

Thanks for that info. I just looked at my FS595 fandeck, and there isn't much difference between those two colors.

The FS codes are approx and as you'll know it also depends on which manufacturer you go with. Model Master 1706 looks spot on for the darker colour.

During Desert Storm, some french Jaguar were overpainted in a hurry with some acrylic paints bought from hardware stores in the vicinity of Toul airbase and St Dizier airbase. They weathered badly and rapidly so the colours were alterate and if I were you, I would not bother too much with the shades accuracy. My 2 cents :-)
