Watcher
I'm going to be building the Hasegawa 1:48 Typhoon Mk 1b. There are two resin detailing sets: Aires and Barracuda. The former is half the price of the latter. Can anyone guide me on why I would pay more for the Barracuda set? TIA Matthew
Work In Progress
Given that you're in the UK, I can see no compelling reason not to go for the Aires cockpit as it is cheaper here for some reason. If you were in the USA the Barracuda set would be cheaper. The CMK one is more expensive than either. They're all fine.
Watcher
Thanks - they look the same.
neilh
May be worth seeing of you can find any build reviews or someone who has used the Aires set. They have had a reputation of being tricky to fit, with lots of grinding and sanding involved. Barracuda details have been a drop fit when I have used them. TIA Matthew Hi Matthew interesting build here, with the Barracuda/jaguar set note IMO if you want a AM set for the Typhoon wheel wells, are maybe a better investment, see build above, as the Hase pit is OK. Though at the mo you can nab a 1/24th Airfix Tiffie for the cost of a hase plus AM.....
