theplasticsurgeon
Tim's build of the Wessex kit. Planned to be an HC2 of 18Sqdn. My only helicopter flight, 11 August 1978, in XR519/BD.. I was an air cadet on camp at RAF Gutersloh. This kit cost me 4.15 from Seahawk 2001. 18Sqdn badges from Hepster. Thanks chaps. Other serials and side codes from my spares - if available. Edited December 6, 2016 by theplasticsurgeon Completed
Rodders154
Looking forward to following this build I haven't decided what to build I am thinking of building the 1/48 Italeraikit with rotorcraft HC2 kit as I have the xtradecal sheet. Or the Frog kit with the modeldecal Mk1 rescue aircraft Rodders

theplasticsurgeon
Here are the parts. And Decals. This will be a slow start, I've got two builds in the Mustang STGB.
heloman1
Hi Tim, you are going to have to do some serious surgery to the cabin windows. The crab cabs only had small cabin windows as per the Italeri H-34 kits. However there were two HU5's that served in Cyprus at the end of the Wessex carreer in that region. However two HU5's did operate in crab markings right at the end of their career, in the o/a light grey scheme. I'll see if i can find the reference Colin
theplasticsurgeon
I can live with oversize cabin windows. My memory of the flight is rather distant now, and certainly doesn't extend to that detail. I've completed the Mustangs, and am about to start this build, which will be very OOB.
