Black Knight
Brushed on or Sprayed? Try using IPA, meths or another alcohol to remove the varnish. If you go carefully you may just get minimal damage to the coloured paint.
Col68
It was sprayed on its the first time and last time I'll use it. I usually use future but I've ran out . Cheers I'll try using some IPA to remove the varnih
LaurieS
Hopefully the varnish is not to well cured. I would say providing it has only been on 3 or 4 days as mentioned above IPA will do the trick. It will also take off the acrylic paint. But patience is needed small areas at a time as the IPA quickly evaporates. Old rags soak end in IPA and rub away. It is harmless to plastic welded joints. Afterwards 1200 gauge wet and dry with lots of water will bring it back to a great finish for a re-spray. Laurie
Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
Was this the aerosol stuff? If so, it has lifted every type of paint I've sprayed it on to.
Col68
No it was humbrol 35 thinned with humbrol acrylic thinner. Applied through my airbrush. I normally use future or pledge thinned with water but I was too lazy to walk 200 yards to shop lesson learnt 😕
