Soon to be revived

Recommended Posts

I do not seem to know what to do with this model. Seem to be moving it around in different diorama scenerios. This is version 3 of the Samba saga as I call it. Sounds like I am being repetitive here. Sorry guys.

Good grief that is amazing !  Shows real imagination and it couldn't have been easy getting that tree to look like it was growing through the VW. :clap2::wow:

Hi Tiking, phenomenal work as always, and yes I've seen your other works and the other versions featuring this VW. I really like this version. Using the tree stump as a base is a great idea.

I know you're going to have problems with the mosses you've used. It will dry up and die unless you water it regularly. Do you intend to water it, or will you replace it every now and then? Or did you use it just for photographic purposes?  I tried using mosses and some still retained their integrity even when dried out, but others crumbled and shrank to nothing. I've tried sealing them with acrylic varnishes and PVA and that sometimes helps, but in the end I decided that mosses aren't the thing to use for permanent displays.

Oh, and finally, the cat. Unlike everything else, it doesn't look at all realistic. Please get rid of it? :D

Rearguards,

Hasha! Yeah! I think I will remove the cat. I was skeptical about it too.

As for the moss. I just spray paint them a green color after they have dried. Although, like yourself, I have had certain moss that have still retained their color over time. Or one could spray them with water every now and then. But I have some moss that have been lying around for as long as 2 years, and they are still green.

Or one could use a mixture pf glycerine and water to preserve the texture and perhaps the color.

Lovely job tiking, the main reason the cat doesn't look realistic's because it's awake lol...

Hahaha! Like it. Or perhaps it's been sat at the gap where the van's side door should be and it's been meowing for someone to open the door? :D

I really like that (and agree about the cat). I love the way the tree goes through the window and roof, really adds "age" to the abandoned Samba. Well done!

Fantastic work...beautiful work of art.

In my very humble opinion, the cat its not up to par with the rest...its just too white and "fluffy" for a stray cat in that set...

I am going to try and rework the cat. So I have already removed it. So no need to comment any more on the cat guys. Thanks.
