Good afternoon

My 3rd  entry for this Gb will be the Airfix P 51 D

And I will represent Happy Jack's Go Buggy flown by Major Jack Ilffrey of the 20 Th Fighter group

For this one I will use the Pavla set to convert the Airfix late Model Mustang into a D-5 Model and I will replace the original seat by a Quickboost one

Thank you for your interest guys

I agree with you the 20th FG Mustangs are very colourful 

 

Today I worked on the instrument panel and the seat I replaced the ones from the kit by a Yahuumodels one for the Ip and a True Detail one for the seat

Good afternoon

 Yesterday I cut off the back part of the fuselage and glued the seat and instrument panel on the floor and this morning I placed them on the left half of the fuselage

Hi Justin

 Thank you , I think that the Airfix Mustang is best suited for that conversion : the plastic is ''soft'' enough to cut off the tail ..

Good evening

 Last week end I started painting : Metalcote Silver on the side of the fuselage and under surfaces and after it tried  I painted a first coat of Olive Drab on the upper surfaces

the more I see the Airfix P-51D built, the more I like the kit!

Are you giving another go at the pre-shading?
