M3 Stuart "Bellman Honey"

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Countryman.

Well, permit me to say just one word: "Wow".

Could you tell a bit about the kit and the build, please?

Hey Patt,(Merci makker)    Kit is from Academy scale 1/35

I build this for my wife, becos she love the color on the box....i known its normally grey with sunshine it turns to a little blue/grey in real...

But for my wife i use the blue mixed with other colors of tamiya.

The rust effects are a mix of humbrol/revell with on they end some powders to become a desert look.

chip the wheels with white+yellow sand

I almost lost my modeltank....she wants that on her desk at work...

And if you can see i didn't close the tank with glue...so i can open it at any time to show the inside

I love the camo pattern. The colours you used complement each other nicely. Great weathering, although I think maybe a bit too much rust/sand on the commander's hatch. I think opening/closing the hatch would tip any sand off. Otherwise, a really great job. Congrats!

Thanks Razzie.

It seems so easy to get such a result, when reading your explanations. Really convincing (I even prefer the Inside).

I never did many armor kits but looking at builds here (like yours) it could divert me from WW II props.

My preferred tanks are the Stuart, Pzkpfw. 38, Jagdpanther and T34 (/76 not 85).

Well Patt,it ain't easy to do it...from books you can learn a bit...but every artist here has his own technique to make a something special....

sometimes a photo of your paintwork helps to find the weak and ugly paintwork.

buy a book or dvd

my collection of my books

-"Art of modeling" magazine (and many other in pdf from the net)

-"FAQ 2" Big book

-"AK interactive Washes, fading and oils" dvd

-weathering magazine from Mig Jimenez helps also

-Real rust on iron....in nature or towns (take photo and study them)

-join a modelclub ( i don't have the time)

hope this was helpfull

Well, I'm more the type to learn by "trial and error" than referring to books, but one of the reasons I joined here is to learn from more knowledgeable people.

Mvg. Amitiés.
