French-Polish defence spat

So Poland cancels it's (apparent) request for Caracal helicopters in favour of Blackhawks, and the French (in a fit of anger) disinvite Polish officials to a large Naval exposition. Who knew the Polish taught the French to use forks? :D

Is it because the Blackhawks are built under licence by PZL in Poland? There was one at Farnborough this year in the static outside one of the pavilions carrying a civvy SP- reg and all in...Black.

from what I read in other articles, yes. But it may not be the only thing, as the Caracals would have been built in Poland too.

It is hard to call them "built on licence", after all Sikorsky is simply assembling their S-70i helicopter in their factory.

The decision about Caracals (and many others) cannot be explained without political background. But even with the background in sight most of decisions made in Poland in recent months cannot be called reasonable. No great chance for improvement until next elections (planned for 2019). I'm sorry.
