fightersweep
Hi all; Just noticed that the box art and details for the Italeri (Esci) Transit is now on their website. Linky here; http://www.italeri.com/scheda.asp?idProdotto=2575 Like the choice for the box art...."Cook, cook cook cookability, that's the beauty of gas!" (There's a clue there!) Hannants now have it listed as forthcoming at £26.99. Not too bad. I want at least three or four. Been waiting ages for this! stringbag
It's fatally flawed and totally un-buildable. The steering wheel is on the wrong side..
fightersweep
Not to worry, there's bits in the box to put the steering wheel on God's chosen side!

I like your style Sir! I notice from the sprue shots on Italeri's website that the option for left and right hand dashboards are still supplied..so all good there. Only one UK decal option in the box as far as I can see. I'm not a regular vehicle modeller, but will there be any chance of any aftermarket decals or accessories being released for this kit? I'm tempted to build a minibus version of the Royal Mail Transit I drove around in 1988. Now, are three on backorder going to be enough?? Oddball
Ooooo this definitely tickles my fancy. My mum had a clapped out one of these with the dual wheels on the back. Dark blue it was, lovely.

stevecombeboy
The body looks a bit odd with two side doors - still, nothing a knife and filler won't fix! Got to be dirty, rusty white and thoroughly battered! Waiting patiently... Steve
fightersweep
Two side doors!! That won't do! Looks like I'll be cracking out the filler too.
Pete in Lincs
I think Ford used to say there were a million combinations. So how much is that on backorder? Now, twin rear doors, long wheelbase, tipper, Luton, Hawson, etc etc
arni
As I recall the Esci version had a bulkhead aft of th seats so doing a pickup/crewcab should not be too difficult.. So question, once we all get them how about a group build? I have two on order and plan on getting more! Just thought how about a 'county' conversion - 4x4 Tranny.. fightersweep
I like the idea of a group build. Is that do-able? I've got loads of ideas but I'm useless at printing my own decals. Hope some other options become available! Mind you, I have a full size Mk IV Transit on the driveway that needs fixed. I should be concentrating on that! Bonhoff
The real question should be, is there a 1/24th scale car trailer to put my Esci Escort RS on behind this?

Aoshima are just about to release a Brian James trailer I suspect you had the same idea as me. Rothmans team van. I even spoke to Reji on their Facebook page about a decal sheet, to which they pointed out fact that a large transkit would be needed to correct the kit, lwb, crew cab, dual axle etc and they wasn't sure on its saleability. Still the seed has been planted mwahahaha Ashley
Bonhoff
Agreed that an LWB Transit would be more correct but when we rallied the old Skoda some of the mechanicking heroics were done out of the back of an SWB Tranny owned by my brother so I figured it'd do. The diorama possibilities are endless. I'm just wondering how to replicate the sight of my service crew trying to make flamethrowers out of aerosol cans. Perhaps wiping down the poor co-driver down after suffering "Mal de Rally Car." Or, as happened more often than not, them refusing to work on the car because it was, in their words, "Muddy"
