Hi guys. I have 3 fujimi RAF phantoms and wanted to make a camouflaged version from the 1970s era but with the two red and blue roundels. I have markings for a 111sqn aircraft but not the appropriate roundels. Was wondering what size are these and if i can nick roundels from another 1/72 kit to make these eg buccaneer?

Roundels on the camouflaged Phantoms were all of 36 inch diameter. The same size was also used for the older blue/white/red roundels.

The Buccaneer did indeed use 36" roundels in all positions, so if you have spare roundels from a Brick you can used them on your Phantom. Assuming of course that the roundels are the right size in the decal sheet...

Might I suggest Modeldecal sheets 37(https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MD037) or 64(https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MD064), both of which have red/blue roundel green/grey camouflaged Phantoms.Hannants have them at £4.00per sheet weith free p&p.

There is a generic roundel set as well, doesn't give sizes bu would be surprised if 36' isn't included https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/X72165

36" roundels are included in this sheet. IMHO a generic roundel sheet is always handy in the stash as decals included in kits are not always the best in terms of quality and/or accuracy.

Have to say that my copy of this sheet was badly out of register, however I know that hannants have solved this issue a while ago (issue that affected a number of their early sheets)
