Séan Pádraig
After a break from building for a couple of months due to upgrading my modelling shed I am ready to get back into a new build... I have chosen the Cessna 172 'Skyhawk' which I will build as the IAC version (Reims Rocket) Spent some time trying to research what needs to change in the kit to make it look more like the IAC version. . . it seems that there is a bit of plastic surgery required. Seats need headrests removed. Landing light below prop filled in. New landing light cut into port wing. New bracing above windshield (not sure what it's purpose as it is only on the IAC aircraft) Easy stuff to start the seats Edited February 11, 2017 by Séan Pádraig Links to images restored

aircraftkit
Wow, great write up, lovely clear pictures. Stunning looking model, I like that a lot. I'm impressed that you managed to get enough weight in to make it stand on its own undercarriage without it falling backwards.... Interesting, out-of-the-ordinary build. Well done ! Séan Pádraig
Well I am reluctantly calling this one done..... I removed the masking tape from the glazing before I clear coated the model (I was using Zero paints for the first time) This resulted in fogging....A rookie mistake, shame but there it is... Ah well time to move onto the next project.
Jessica
So it's a frosty morning. Have you tried a coat of clear gloss over the windscreen?
Séan Pádraig
Yup.... I tried some johnsons Klear which helped a little, I'm trying to be philosophical about it.

Max Headroom
Well done. An unusual subject which looks very attractive in that scheme. Here's a sister ship I bagged on a visit to Casement in 1983. Trevor
Team Aer Lingus
Nice job Sean & it used to get very cold @ Gormanston so it looks like one just pulled out of the hangar early in November . Regards Eamonn

Séan Pádraig
Cheers for the kind words... I have popped the windshield off now and will attempt to polish it up (or even Vac form a new one)
