djos
Hi second model from introduction part..... Well known P-47D from Academy. Out of box, only some correction - shortening about 1mm main lending gears, so now it sits a little better. Model master olive drab, tamiya neutral gray, washes - artistic oil paints, varnish - gunze mat top cote. Only thing missing on pictures is drop tank, still not finished, and light bulb under wing for landing light, applied just after taking pictures. As always pictures not perfect but i hope you will like this model. I enjoyed a lot making it. Lightningboy2000
That is a beauty and very well weathered for 1/72. Another classic "must have" kit of the P-47.

Mr Modeller
Oooh, I love the 'checkertail' scheme and I love P-47 Thunderbolts, especially the 'Razorback' - that is very nice indeed Djordje, thank you very much for sharing and well done!! stevej60
Another fine build Djos,I think we share a love of building the less loved kits available but at least they're cheap and as you've proved can turn out superb.
WildeSau75
What a great build of this iconic fighter - could easily be 1/48. Cheers, Michael

Meatbox8
Another exceptionally good build. The paintwork is incredibly authentic looking. I would have easily been convinced this is 1/48th.
IanC
Yes, I think you've absolutely nailed the scuffed OD look. And the chequered tail is superb.
dfqweofekwpeweiop4
Very good! I built this too and had a nightmare with the tail decals (no surprise being Academy). I used a pair of large drop tanks (like the ones from a P-38) as I've seen a pic of a checkertail P-47 with them, which is not a big surprise seeing as they were mainly bomber escorts. thanks Mike
AdrianMF
Fantastic! Lovely finish and weathering. How did you get on with the checker decals for the tail? (which look great too, BTW) Regards, Adrian
djos
Thanks Decals are...ahhh...very bad, to thick, over scaled... So first started with standard chemistry including MrMark softener.....nothing really helped. So totally angry i settle everything at the end with Tamiya Super Thin Glue, very carefully applied not to ruin decals. Of course some places was damaged so correction with paint...and at the end i was happy
Winenut
Wow. Dedication on those decals. Didn't know you could carefully apply super thin as a last resort! Cheers
