M_Sinclair
2016 was my first ever trip to the legendary airshow at Oshkosh, known as Airventure. Oh my it did not disappoint. Cannot wait to go back. I've no idea when that will be. But boy I'm looking forward to it. Here's the full gallery. https://www.flickr.com/photos/92554273@N07/albums/72157673601898586 The headquarters of EAA is also a museum. An amazing museum. Complete with authentic chunks of various B-17 and B-24 noses with nose art. It's eerie to think that at one point these pieces were once part of a larger plane, being crewed mostly by teenagers and literally fighting for their lives. Not something I can even begin to comprehend. Gave me goosebumps. 20160725-MJS_5245 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160725-MJS_5211 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160725-MJS_5261 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160725-MJS_5262 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160726-MJS_5396 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160726-MJS_5496 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160726-MJS_5567 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160726-MJS_5779 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160727-MJS_6167 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr For me, this is aviation perfection. And this very Spitfire actually flew combat missions over Normandy. She wasn't active on D-Day but did fly combat before and after. 20160727-MJS_6481 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr The night airshows. WOW. 20160727-MJS_6992 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr There's over 10,000 planes at Oshkosh. Literally! Fields and fields and fields of them! 20160730-MJS_7310 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160730-MJS_7603 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr The C-47 that lead 800 others on D-Day. You could really sense the ghosts around some of these warbirds. Never thought I would ever in my life touch such history. 20160730-MJS_7628 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160730-MJS_7623 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160730-MJS_7706 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160730-MJS_8211 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Early morning in Warbrd Alley. During the week long airshow that very control tower becomes one of the busiest in the world. 20160731-MJS_8478 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160731-MJS_8509 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Ford Tri-Motor. by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160731-MJS_8759 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160731-MJS_9037 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20160731-MJS_9209 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Thanks for looking! -matt

M_Sinclair
Thanks gentlemen. The show was so big and forever changing so I only captured a fraction of what was there. Missed getting photos of the P-47 bubbletop, two F-4's. And apparently there was a fly past of a U-2. Though I agree with my girlfriend, possibly the coolest thing we narrowly missed. Harrison Ford! Would have been cool to see Indy/Han in the flesh. -matt Edited November 15, 2016 by M_Sinclair
