This test build was on display nearby the future Trumpeter's 1/72nd MiG-31 kit (ref.01679). Also in the image are the future 1/48th Defiant Mk.1 (ref.02899), the 1/32nd MiG-29 9.12 "Fulcrum-A" (ref.03223) and the 1/24th Ju-87A Stuka (ref.02420). For its part, the HobbyBoss's soon to release 1/48th Su-34 test build was on display in another part of the same stand - nearby the 1/48th MiG-31M, A-4M and IAR-80. V.P. It was suggested, years ago when the Italeri kit was new, that the intakes were squashed in the vertical dimension. Never formed my own opinion. I'll probably get the Trumpeter kit and compare with my original issue Italeri ( which is coming out again) before deciding which to build.
