Gimme Shelter
Feeling prehistorically inspired by both my previous Triceratops diorama and Mrs P's roll-out of dinosaurs, I have started work immediately on a pair of Tamiya's 1/35 Tyrannosaurus prehistoric diorama sets - again to be integrated into a single diorama - A pair of the Tyrant kings, fighting over a carcass of an old Lindberg Jurassic Park Hadrosuarus kit. I had to take the heat gun to these to re-set their tail and neck poses as I didn't want a mirroring pair of kits despite the mouth and leg pose options that Tamiya provide. These two lizard kings will be posed have a real blood splashing, flesh tearing go at each other.. I've spent a few nights snading down that horrible green filler and adding proper skin textures back onto the adjusted poses - lots of work left to do and thanks for looking in - John

Hi Mrs P - I think the T rex and Chasmosaurus bases can be integratedinto each other if need be - they butt up to one another along one edge each

Potted plants for the forthcoming Autumn.. some of the early tail bending repair work Bad Guy pose A Bader Guy pose B here you can see the changes to the tails and neck poses after some more leg and foot/ankle bending it looks a mess now but I'm hoping that once trimmed and fitted up to their plant stems, these leaves will look OK Primed and drying thanks for following guys and gals. ... The bases make a dry riverbed and all the dinosaurs are coincidentally walking towards the centre. This proves that dinosaurs had tiny brains, because I wouldn't voluntarily walk towards a Tyrannosaurus. It also looks like one of your Rexes could benefit from a visit to the orthodontist to sort out his missing teeth...

Yep you're right Jessica, I've got to somehow work out how to get a set a=of teeth into that lower jaw - it was supposed to be used in the closed position but circumstance did not permit at the build stage - I'll have to dig out the spare lower jaw and remove the gum and tooth lines. grrr

Gimme Shelter
What with all the Brachio herd fun happening at the moment, I've neglected these 2 sharp toothed beasties - anyway, I've found the time to get the airbrushing started and are feeling more motivated to get this diorama off the desk ASAP.

Gimme Shelter
Hi I've managed to recover the poor attempt above and have nearly finished Mr T-Rex number 1 and now with a coat of FLORY to bring up the wrinkles and scales: I have made a mistake on the eyes and will re-work these tonight bye for now and thanks for following along - John
Gimme Shelter
Been going around in circles with the 2nd of the 2 Rex's - here's Mr Rexy number 1 with its mouth and eyes completed and taken under my new white light lamp bought at Telford. Cheers to all Dino followers and of course, Mrs P - John
Gimme Shelter
Grrrr - Mr Rexy number 2 was a complete bodge job - I was too into the paint work on my first Brachio at the time and worked on Rexy 2 in between sessions but without true Rexy love in mind. Here's the paint job circle I went round to even start getting close to a proper end job. Grrrr - it can only get better from hereon (surely) John

Gimme Shelter
So I'm now on the recovery paint stages of Rexy 2, so far I'm happy with my limited skills end results. Apologies for the poor pictures but I work after dark and although I have 2 superb lamps, they don't work well under a camera up against the corner of my Man Cave Room - Dino Den Klear on ready for Flory coat No 1 John
