There's certainly some improvements over the Tamiya kit and if you like rivets on your model then the Meng kit is clearly an improvement.

So they made the ailerons separate but the elevators, which were quite often sitting down on parked aircraft, they've made one piece with the tailplanes? And the elevator front edge looks like it's just a scribed line rather that having a slight curve to the leading edge like the Tamiya kit.

aimed at the beginner market but having seen the price on Hannants

Yeah, that's a real eye waterer,  considering the Tamiya kit on Hannants is £20. Mind you I don't know enough about P51s to know if the Tamiya kit is good or not. I'd like to try the Meng kit, if only to see how well it goes together, but sadly not at £34. All those rivet details won't please smooth laminar wing fans either.

But then again, different strokes for different folks. At least with Airfix, Meng and Eduard joining the list, we'll have plenty of choice.

Yes, that is a risk.

Mine charge 25% plus a fixed fee of around 5 GBP for sheer pleasure of doing me the service I didn't order (all packages valued above ca 20 GBP) but sometimes smaller boxes from the East slip through. No chance for packages from the US.

Here in the UK the threshold is £15 which at the moment with the weak pound is an absolute joke.

new Xtradecal references. Will be of course OK for all the others 1/48th P-51D Mustang kits.

RAF Dark Green?

That's maybe what they were thinking, but it's come out nothing like that. The old Humbrol 30 is a better match ;)
